Some of Kentucky’s finest writers and musicians including Barbara Kingsolver, Wendell Berry, Crystal Wilkinson, Richard Taylor, Erik Reece, Maurice Manning, Eric Scott Sutherland, Matt Duncan, the Northside Sheiks and Tee Dee Young took the stage at the Lyric Theater on September 19th to raise consciousness and legal funds for the Disconnectors, the grassroots group fighting a proposed $400 million dollar road that will destroy a huge swath of the Bluegrass, including Marble Creek, the Kentucky River Palisades, and the Valley View Ferry, all in the name of progress and business “connectivity.”
Thanks to the 500+ people who packed the Lyric Theater and expressed their very vocal opposition to wanton destruction of the landscape we all hold dear. And thanks to our sponsors, the Ann Tower Gallery, the Cumberland Chapter of the Sierra Club, Morris Books and Alfalfa’s Restaurant.
